DEFKALION is the new Greek soft wheat variety created by IANOS IKE, registered in the National and European Variety Catalogue, comes to provide solutions to various climatic and soil challenges by achieving the ideal combination of adaptability, resistance and Yelding.

Defkalion’s strong root system ensures significant resistance to soil diseases and creates the conditions for high density of Tillers(Tillering). Its rich leaf surface with its slightly keeled leaves ensures direct exploitation of the sun’s rays resulting in better photosynthesis.

Defkalion is characterised by its early ear emergence, giving large sized ears with long, golden brown Awns which make it almost immune to ear diseases and highly resistant to drought.
